  Worth a stop to get an overview of Uruguayan painting and prints. Also hosts special exhibits. Be sure to visit the Japanese garden behind the museum.

  The park outside is very nice and the museum has historical national art, as well as contemporary artists.

  Beautiful museum and completely free. Each room is better than the next and the staff is very informative. (If you understand Spanish) Buy something from the gift shop to keep this place open. Unfortunately the Japanese garden is closed on rainy days so keep that in mind.

  Must see uruguayan works of art. Nice room for itinerant exhibitions. Beautiful building, with patios and garden. Also, donated by Japanese government, the tiny and well kept, Japanese Garden. The place is accessible with wheelchair, not without difficulty.
